never seen this toy played with with such enthusiasm...

Posts have been few and far between lately for a few reasons. One: Being pregnant and taking care of an Elliott are tiring enough without having to keep up a blog (yeah, yeah, I know, I think its hard now with Madeleine not yet released to the outside world yet - spare me the lecture). Two: With just a few weeks left until Maddie is born, there is lots to do around here to prepare for her arrival. Three: Elliott is increasingly aware of and interested in the camera as you will see in this video when he drops what he's doing and says, "Camera!" and "Picture!" while trying to take the camera from me.

can life get any better than this?

During our recent trips back and forth up to WI, we discovered that Elliott loves ice cream cones - which I guess isn't a really shocking observation. Specifically though, he likes the ice cream cone, without the extra ice cream on top and with just a little bit of ice cream in the cone. The ice cream cone prior to this one was almost a complete disaster because we got it drive thru and had no way to dispose of the extra ice cream on top except for Dan to eat it as fast as he could. Picture Elliott in the back of our van screaming bloody murder at the injustice of having an ice cream cone with actual ice cream on top of it while Dan is furiously sucking down ice cream and fighting off a brain freeze. Offering Elliott the cone with the extra ice cream was like forcing him to drink castor oil before he could have dessert and that is the shocking part of this observation.

This ice cream cone (with extra ice cream removed) was eaten on the way up to Madison. We made the mistake of stopping at Culver's where Elliott would only eat french fries, the fried part of onion rings, an ice cream cone, and half of Dan's mint milkshake. We figured since he had an ice cream cone he wouldn't be interested in the milkshakes that we were slurping down, but about halfway through his cone, he realized that Mom & Dad weren't interested in the delicious item he was partaking in and must therefore have something even tastier. I didn't get video of Elliott slurping down Dan's milkshake because I was too busy trying to hide and polish off my own milkshake. I did, however, get this video of Elliott saying ice cream cone repeatedly as he does now whenever the word "ice" is even brought up. I never thought we would be spelling out words during conversations this early in his life. I have ice cream cones and his Grandma Weix's cookies to thank for that.

probably good that he doesn't post very often...

This was Dan's idea of a good blog post.
It would read, "Elliott gives Dad the flu"
